Teacher iMovie Training 9-31-07
If this is old to you I apologize now. If it isn't old then hopefully you'll be able to incorporate it into your classroom curriculum and help them if they have problems.
1. Create a folder on your desktop called "clans."
2. Save the seven clan pictures to the "clans" folder on your desktop.
3. Open iMovie and create a new project called 7clans. More than likely it will default to save in your Movies folder. Change it to save to the Desktop.
4. Import the pictures into your iMovie project.
5. Drag them to the timeline in the order you want.
6. Create a title "over black" before the first slide called Otoe Clans. The other option is to deselect the "over black" option and have the title scroll over your first picture.
7. Record your voice as you mention each of the 7 clans.
8. Download (ctrl click) this music file to your "clans" folder.
9. Put this music in the second channel of audio. It will serve as background music....you may have to turn its volume down if you cannot hear your voice.
10. Export it as a Quicktime Web-Streaming file to your "clans" folder. Make sure you name it your lastname and first initial!!!! Example: fisherb When it is finished you will have fisherb.mov and that is what you turn in to my Senior Projects dropbox on the mustang server.
Connecting to the Mustang server:
1. On the desktop hit your apple key and the "k" key or you can go to the menu at the top of the screen and select "Go" and then choose"Connect to Server."
2. In the address bar you should have the ip address 172.16.1.7
3. When it asks for a username and password just use guest guest.
4. Navigate to my "Senior Projects Dropbox" and put your file into my folder.
You may leave at 4:00 or when I get your .mov file.
