NECC 2007, Gail Lovely 

The links listed below are links Gail Lovely demonstrated at the 2007 NECC conference in Atlanta, GA .  She has picked her favorite free web sites and specific examples dedicated to children in grades PreK-2nd.  I have listed those links below along with my notes for what they do. Note that each link is a specific example within a site full of resources.  If you have time you can go from that link to that sites home and explore more options.  I have also posted the PDF file she used in her presentation.  You can download it and see the same links and what she presented at the conference. 

• Fuzzy Lion Ears is an activity that gives the first 3 or 4 letters of a word and students have to figure out the last letter. http://pbskids.org/lions/games/  (She only demonstrated the Fuzzy Lion Ears.)

• Vocabulary challenge.  It gives a word and student has to choose the correct definition.  They can see other answers and how many chose them.  There is a section for writing their own definition too.  http://www.eduplace.com/fakeout/
